These two drugs are only few examples of what doctors prescribe to their hypertensive patients. During my last check up, the dreaded words came out of my mouth, “Can I find out how to lower blood pressure quickly?” My doctor told me I was a risk during my previous check-up but I didn’t really want to listen. I’ll admit, it’s kind of hard to convince someone whose way of life practically requires coffee, cigarettes, and alcohol to survive that he needs to quit. But when the numbers were before me in black and white, I realized I had to do something about it.
My father and grandmother both had long histories of hypertension. Unfortunately, they both refused to understand how to lower blood pressure quickly and they had coronaries while they were rather young. I vaguely remember my grandmother and my dad enjoyed his grandchildren for too short a time, too. My son is still in high school, so I don’t want to even think about going this way yet. First thing the doctor told me to do is to keep a diary of my blood pressure readings.
