You want to lose weight. Nowadays, there’s hardly anyone left who doesn’t have any interest in weight loss. Whether to cure or avoid obesity and other weight-related illnesses or to look good, more and more people are trying out diets that are designed for losing weight.
When you’re on a diet, you normally have to go by with only one type or kind of food and stick to one strict diet. The usual diets that are being practiced these days are often just simply a low-carb diet or a low-protein diet, never both. The problem with following just one diet or concentrating on only one type of food is that you can never be sure whether it will work for you. Not all body types are the same, so while a pure low-carb or low-protein diet may work for others, it might only cause your body more digestive problems.
That’s where Diets 4 Idiots come into the picture. This kind of diet embraces the best features of tried and tested diets out there. This means that you won’t have to focus on curbing only your carb or protein intake – you can do both effectively and safely. Moreover, you can have the luxury of eating all types of food – from fruits and vegetables to lean meats – and can switch to low-fat alternatives for your mayonnaise, cheese, and milk needs. Fad diets why are they bad? Fad diets seem to offer “quick weight losses” in diminutive amounts of time; however, the consequences from these fad diets are anything but attractive. Sure they might appeal to the typical dieter by attacking weight loss with complicated health jargons or even provide phony testimonials. You should avoid fad diets. Why are they bad; let me go further in detail about the reasons why they should be avoided, and common hoaxes they utilize to hook you?
If something sounds too good to be true, than more likely it’s just a hoax. Fad diets, why are they bad? Here are ten widespread hoaxes that fad diets often present.
Hoax 1- Skipping Meals
Skipping meals actually helps you lose weight. Actually, this is one of the most counterproductive things you can put your body through. I would recommend that you never fall into the habit of skipping meals. This slows down your metabolism and prohibits you from losing weight. It is recommended that you eat five small meals a day in order to achieve optimum weight loss. Many of these fad diets don’t allow you to eat a well balanced diet and merely cause your body to crash in order to lose weight. Read more...

People everywhere are always looking for a way to lose weight, preferably one that doesn’t make them sacrifice too much. After a lot of trial and error many are finding that the program Every Other Day Diet works for them. It has helped them lose the weight they want while not sacrificing their favorite foods or starving themselves.
But what exactly is it? The basis of the diet is a thing called “calorie cycling” or “calorie shifting”. Basically this plan tricks the body into believing no calories are being restricted, when in fact they are. One day you’ll have high protein meals to burn fat and on the following day you eat your favorite foods in moderation. This is said to keep the metabolism from slowing down so the body continues to burn fat and lose weight.
The diet cycles from “burn days” to “feed days”. A feed day is when you are to consume the recommended daily calorie intake plus 50% more. You’ll eat the foods you love, but by controlling portions. On a burn day you’ll drastically reduce your recommended daily calorie intake to 30% to 50%. You’ll eat high protein meals on those days. Some may choose to fast replacing a feed or burn day, this isn’t part of the plan nor recommended. Read more...

You should avoid these top ten fad diets, why? I’ll go further in detail about the reasons why they should be avoided, as these diets are not the best way in the world to lose weight.
The phrase fad diets typically refer to diets that promote a restricted eating-plan, which is unhealthy, and lack in sufficient calories. We can be slim and trim as these diets work in the beginning, usually because the suggested eating regimens help you cut calories in one way or other. As soon as you go back to your normal eating pattern, it might double your weight! This formula is just like a get rich quick scheme that offers lot of money in short period.
The first rule of the top ten fad diets don’t allow you to eat a well balanced diet and merely cause your body to crash in order to lose weight. They suggest skipping meals, its right to skip 2-3 big meals but instead I recommend you to eat 5-6 small meals in order to screw up your body.

Being thin is the ultimate goal of many people. They imagine all the things that they will do and be once they are thinner. The only problem is that the diet methods that they use will never get them there. One solution is the every other day diet. It provides you with food choices and a freedom that you don’t find with any other diet plans. If people are provided with an actual plan that doesn’t inhibit what they can eat and yet still lose weight more people would be thin.
You diet one day at a time. If you know that tomorrow you don’t have to maintain a strict regimen then you are more apt to diet that day. Most people feel that they are missing out on the food that they really love. You won’t feel that you are actually dieting as are on the diet just as often as you are off.
There is a built in cheat factor with this program. You eat a planned meal on your diet day. Then the next day you aren’t on your diet. You are allowed to eat non diet items. At first you might eat a higher calorie count than normal, but once you realize that you only have to diet that day it becomes easier and you won’t eat as much on the days you don’t diet. The Cabbage Soup Diet is a fad diet that has caught on for years now. Often called the “Sacred Heart Diet” and the “Military Cabbage Diet”, the Cabbage Soup Diet’s real origin has yet to be determined. No one has verified where the diet came from and if it is designed for any group of people in particular but the fact that the diet is sill around after so many years have shown its potential applicability.
The Cabbage Soup Diet has a detoxifying effect on the dieter as the diet is similar to a fast. However, because of the dangerously low levels of protein and carbohydrates in the soup, this diet is not recommended for everyone. Sandy, who has undergone the diet in the past finds it very effective and she has in fact lost eight pounds in just one week. She said she desperately needed to find a diet that can help her lose the pounds in time for her wedding. Although the diet is effective, it is not easy and the dieter should be aware of the implications before undertaking the diet.

The concept of losing weight fast has been around for a long time and so have its consequences. The notion of a fad means short term; it comes and goes with popularity. Food faddism is synonymous with fad diet and refers to a peculiar eating pattern. History reveals strange eating patterns from centuries ago, when the Romans would stuff themselves and purge. Fasting has also been around a very long time. People would and still do fast for religious or political reasons.
The notion of a fad came about in the mid 1800s when vegetarianism became popular. It is no longer a fad but it was then. Now this is just another dietary choice, which can be healthy. The word diet used to just mean whatever you ate until the early 19th century. There are different accounts of the very first fad diet. In 1820, the vinegar and water diet came around. This diet swept Europe in the early 1800s. Around that time, men used to weigh themselves on public scales. It was some kind of status symbol as to your will or power. Read more...

There are many fad diets to choose from. Most of them reel you in with the promise of quick weight loss. We lose are rational minds and start a two day diet to lose ten pounds. This leaves us disappointed and probably not feeling very well after the two days. We need to start looking at the dangers of fad dieting. If you really lost ten pounds you would be dehydrated, have an electrolyte imbalance and mineral deficiencies. The promises of fad diets sound to good to be true because they are.
The American Heart Association (AHA) studied fad dieting and came up with some dangers of fad dieting. The AHA says fad dieting violates the rules of good nutrition. Good nutrition is eating a balance of different kinds of food. The AHA goes on to say there are no Super Foods that will take off the weight. They maintain that people should eat a variety of foods from all the food groups. The AHA also says fad dieting takes the best part of eating away. That is, eating the food. You should like what you eat and feel satisfied. Read more...
