Biryani is a rice based food that contains meat or veggies as the core ingredient. Plenty of herbs and spices go into preparing Biryani and the meat and veggies are layered and baked. Biryani in Persian pertains to cooking and roasting and the word Biryani comes from the same.
Biryani stemmed from Persia and the legend has it that the tribals and nomads carried plenty of rice and meat on their extended journeys and they developed the culture of layering rice and meat and cooking them as one after smattering ample nuts and dry herbs. The traditional approach consisted of simmering and cooking the mix under fire and then burying it in sand for hours together before the dish was deemed ready. The traditional form of Biryani has since then been improvised and modernized according to convenience
Nowadays there are lots of kinds of Biryani prepared using a lot of diverse cooking styles. There are probably more than a hundred varieties of Biryani prepared using various combinations of meat and vegetables.
Biryani has meat and rice as its basic elements. The rest of the ingredients, vary based on the type and style of the Biryani being prepared. Read more...

They recognize an aesthetic approach but ignore any probable positive benefits of a far more practical nature. Contrary to popular belief, art is not strictly aesthetic. Jean Makoun scored early in the second half to give Lyon a hard fought 1-0 victory in the first leg of their round of 16 Champions League matchup against Real Madrid. The Spanish champions lost for the third straight time on Lyon’s Stade Gerland home field and will now have an uphill battle when the teams meet at Bernabeu to advance to the next round. With the Champions League final slated to be held in their stadium, an exit this early in the competition would be nothing short of an embarrassment for Real Madrid. They’ll need a multigoal victory to assure themselves of advancing to the next round.
Lyon controlled the play in the first half and held a decisive possession advantage. Unfortunately, they didn’t get many accurate scoring chances with a number of them going wide or high of the net. Despite Lyon’s time of possession advantage in the first half, Madrid actually got the best scoring chances in the first half. Following Makoun’s goal just 2 minutes from the start of the second half, Madrid controlled play but could not score the equalizer. For the game, Madrid held a 66% to 34% time of possession advantage. Read more...

In the muddy mess of a rain soaked Churchill Downs, jockey Calvin Borel continued his mastery of the track as he guided Super Saver to victory in the Kentucky Derby. Super Saver had gone off as an 8-1 choice behind 6-1 favorite Looking At Lucky, and Borel took the ‘Run For The Roses’ for the second consecutive year and an unprecedented third time in four years. In the only Derby Borel didn’t win in the last four years he finished in the money, guiding Denis of Cork to a third place finish in 2008.
Borel became the ninth jockey to win the Kentucky Derby at least three times. Eddie Arcaro and Bill Hartack both won it five times while Bill Shoemaker has won it four times. Angel Cordero Jr., Kent Desormeaux, Gary Stevens, Issac Murphy and Earl Sande are the others to have won three Derbies.
After the race Bob Baffert, who watched race favorite Lookin At Lucky finish sixth, gave Borel his due credit:
“This Calvin Borel, you got to give him credit, he knows how to win this race. He gets right on top of that rail, takes advantage. Smart rider; he owns this track. The thing about Calvin is he takes control of the race. He’s great here. He’s a great rider and he can get it done.” Read more...

In one of the highlight matches of the DREAM/K-1 Fields Dynamite! New Years Eve megacard, Japanese submission machine Shinya Aoki used a heel hook to submit a top notch opponent in Eddie Alverez at 1:32 of the first round. With the victory, Aoki sets up a rematch against reigning DREAM lightweight champion Joachim Hansen and bolsters his claim as the best lightweight fighter in the world.
When the Aoki/Alverez fight was first announced, there was some speculation that Aoki had chosen one of the worst possible stylistic matchups for him. With Alverez’s toughness and heart, as well as a solid background in boxing and amateur wrestling hes become one of the best all round fighters in MMA and among the best in the world at the weight.
Alverez received an enthusiastic reaction from the fans in Tokyo’s Saitama Super Arena as he made his way to the ring on New Years Eve”his run to the DREAM lightweight finals and particularly the epic battle with Hansen has made him a highly respected and popular fighter in Japan. The reaction he received was nothing like Aoki’s, however, who was cheered like a rock star as he bounced to the ring to his trademark theme song “Baka Survivo”r. While the fans stood and clapped along to the song, Alverez stood in the ring and shadow boxed–appearing somewhat like he didn’t know what he’d gotten himself into. Read more...

Nowadays in this modern world, discussing an age old principle like yoga can be rather challenging. The real idea of this ancient art has long been forgotten, buried within the challenging way of life of modern day globalization. Many people choose to explain yoga like a simple concept instead of a complex philosophy to be able to help people understand better. The particulars of this practice might not be easily realized by the western civilization.
Referring to a problem you don’t have a comprehensive knowledge of, and scattering the words as the gospel truth is a risky business. Yoga is principally perceived as a physical activity in the western part of the world. It is displayed as a physical activity that is directed towards the accomplishment of inner balance and meditative states of mind. Read more...

Vocal training lessons teach you more than just technique. They also help you bring out the beauty in your singing by combining natural emotion with technically accurate vocals. This kind of emotions is conveyed through vibrato – the subtle fluctuations in a voice – and the use of vocal registers.
Belting out great notes is not what great singing is all about. In order to get that warm, pleasing quality sound, you must control the notes. It’s difficult to develop this skill without the guidance of professionals, because these singing qualities are only created through correct vocal placement.
Vibrato Means Vibrancy
Vibrato refers to the note fluctuations that add vibrancy to the sound. Anyone can sing a flat, off-key tune, but developing vibrato requires an understanding of how to bring out natural voice quality without any trembling sound.
Elusive as it may seem, but this is very very real concept. To create a regular pitch change you got to have controlled breathing to achieve that warmth in the voice. It’s not a tremor, but rather a nuance in pitch that almost pulsates. Although not all the time, vibrato is can be found in older voices too. Read more...

An early goal gave the United States soccer team hope, but in the end the result of their World Cup Qualifier against Mexico at Azteca Stadium was a familiar loss. Mexico rallied for a 2-1 triumph in front of their home fans, sending the US to defeat for the 23rd time in 24 games at the venue.
The United States quickly silenced the raucous crowd of 100,000+ with a goal just eight minutes into the game. Landon Donovan threaded a perfect pass to a Charlie Davies who converted his four career goal in international play to give the Americans a 1-0 lead. It was the first time in history that the US soccer team led a match at Azteca Stadium.
Mexico would pull even just ten minutes later when Cuauhtemoc Blanco set up Israel Castro, who beat US goaltender Tim Howard to tie the game at 1-1. That set the stage for Miguel Sabah’s goal in the 82nd minute which gave Mexico the come-from-behind victory. Mexico coach Javier Aguirre sounded elated and relived with his post match comments:
“Today is a day to celebrate, drink a few tequilas, and then get back to work. Everybody will go to bed tonight a bit more relaxed.” Read more...

When David Beckham suffered a torn Achilles’ tendon in a Serie A game in mid-March, doctors gave him an outside chance of returning in time for the World Cup or at the very least part of the MLS season. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like either of these favorable scenarios will transpire. In a recent statement to the media Beckham broke the news that his recovery is behind schedule and he won’t be able to resume playing soccer until November at the earliest.
This timetable does leave open the possibility that he could return to action should the Los Angeles Galaxy make the MLS playoffs. He’s been assured that he’s welcome back at AC Milan in Italy’s Serie A league whenever he’s back in playing shape, though neither the team nor Beckham have indicated anything specific about his future with the team.
Beckham explained his recovery process:
“I won’t be running for another three months, so I will be playing again in, probably, November.”
“My mentality is to kind of push it and get moving and running and soon as possible. But it’s an injury that has to take time to heal. It’s frustrating. It’s obviously disappointing because I’ve been working for the last two years to get into the English squad [for the World Cup].” Read more...
