Inhaling asbestos filled air for longer durations result in a kind of cancer, which is called Mesothelioma. It is mainly classified into three categories. The most common among these is pleural mesothelioma and it is responsible for majority of the cases reported. In pleural mesothelioma, the protective membrane of our internal organs called mesothelium gets covered with the malicious loose asbestos fibers. This gradually damages the cells and affects its functioning. Mainly this type of cancer affects pleura, the protective lining around lungs and internal chest wall.
The pleura consist of parietal and visceral pleura. While the former covers the chest wall, the latter sheaths the lungs. A fluid between these two linings allows easy expansion and contraction of lungs. The inhaled asbestos gets into the minute passages of the lungs and later enters the pleura. A chemical reaction, which is still unknown to the medical world, takes place, which results in formation of cancerous cells. Cells start dividing unnaturally resulting in the pleural lining becoming thicker and accumulation of excess fluid. The thickening of pleura reduces breathing process, thereby causing breathlessness. Mesothelioma is more or less a man-made cancer. The cancer is caused by asbestos which is a naturally found silicate mineral. It is mined out of the earth and put to use in many applications, including cement manufacture, ship building, construction activities etc. The requirement for the material rocketed in the last century due to its many qualities which include insulation capacity, resistance to heat etc. But the minute fibers of the mineral could cause the deadly mesothelioma – a fact which was either not discovered or undisclosed for commercial reasons – and many of the unfortunate workers of that time, who were exposed to asbestos developed mesothelioma. Mesothelioma prognosis is totally hopeless in many of these cases.
Mesothelioma prognosis, cures of mesothelioma and researches in the field are subjects to be analyzed in detail. The air borne particles inhaled by the workers corrupt the mesothelium, which is the protective lining of the internal organs. The damage slowly spreads and spoils the normal functioning of the organs. There is no cure for the cancer presently. The prognosis of the disease is not so useful because of this reason. But research work is at progress in many laboratories to find better treatment for the malicious disease. Read more...

In the modern world where someone is accountable for everything, the opportunity exists for us to seek compensation for accidents that occur to us that are not our fault.
If you suffer, either financially or physically because of someone elses negligence or poor workmanship, then you may well be entitled to compensation. If there is proof that someone elses negligence is responsible for your suffering, then there is a very high chance that you could be compensated, not only for any financial loss you may have incurred, but also for any pain or suffering you may have been caused.
These types of claims, although arguably justified, can be very complicated and can involve several court appearances before an agreement is made. Finding someone qualified, experienced and personable enough to represent you can be difficult, but these people do exist and are the ideal candidates for you to seek out to represent your case. When parents divorce or separate one of the the major considerations is custody and visitation schedules for the children of the relationship. Divorce breaks the bonds between husband and wife, custody splits the bonds of parenting. It is imperative for each parent to remember that every child has a right to an ongoing relationship with each parent.
Although the trend is changing, it is the case that the usual judicial attitude towards custody most often favors women. For whatever reason, it has been the precedence set in the past and traditionally many judges find it difficult to change their ways. However, with the changing of socio-economic structure of contemporary society, fathers are beginning to be recognized as having a greater role as parents. In the case of where the father has visitation rights, these rights must not be interfered with.
The best case scenario is where the parents co-operate with each other to give the children lots of time with each parent. However, as is often the case, this ends in the parent who doesn’t have custody, which is often the father, getting very little visitation time with his children, and frequent bitter disputes over missed visits and inconvenience. To avoid such problems, many judges insist that the parties to devise a fairly detailed custody schedule (known as a parenting agreement or parenting plan) which sets out the visitation schedule and outlines who has responsibility for decisions affecting the children.
